For the past 26 years the Sligo Weekender have been committed to making a difference in our community. But we are not alone. There are hundreds, if not thousands of local people in the County who truly make a difference for their communties, clubs or charities.

People who are dedicated and committed to local caues; people who undertake fundraising efforts for local charities; people who passionately work with local sports clubs and youth organisations, carers, volunteers or any number of other worthy acts of kindness.

Sligo Weekender has launched a "Heart of Sligo" Campaign and we are seeking nominations from local organisations for people who have contributed to society. The overall "Heart of Sligo" will be presented with as new Ford Ka later in the year.

So if you feel there is a person worthy of a nomination in your youth group, sports club, charitable organisation etc. go ahead and make that nomination.
